Jia is a Jamaican-American multi-hyphenate creative, visual artist, producer, and classically trained vocalist whose work is rooted in storytelling, world-building, and the exploration of identity. Across music and visual art, she creates immersive spaces where emotion, memory, culture, and imagination can coexist.

As a visual artist, Jia is self-taught, using painting and mixed media as an intuitive language for exploring Black identity, femininity, ancestry, leisure, memory, and imagined futures. Her work often centers Black women, including imagined and abstracted versions of herself, while playing with color, surrealism, and futurist ideas. Blue appears frequently throughout her work, becoming its own emotional and visual language. Sometimes oceanic, sometimes celestial, and sometimes otherworldly.

Jia has been creating art for as long as she can remember. What began as a way to escape into imagined worlds has evolved into a practice of building them. She uses visual art to hold space for complex emotions, questions of identity, and perspectives that do not always have an easy place to exist in the real world.

That same instinct extends into her music. A classically trained vocalist, Jia spent years immersed in choirs, refining her vocal technique and deepening her understanding of music theory. This foundation unlocked a vast vocal range that she now explores through intricate harmonies, using her voice not only as an instrument, but as a tool for storytelling and world-building.

At 19, Jia began producing and recording her own music, guided by the belief that one must learn the rules before breaking them. Her sound is rooted in what she calls “cloud music,” a genre-defiant expression of her emotional connection to the sky. Lush vocal textures, ethereal melodies, and layered harmonies come together to create sonic environments that feel expansive, dreamlike, and alive.

Drawing from R&B, Alternative, Gospel, Pop, visual art, and her Jamaican-American heritage, Jia approaches creativity as a space for exploration rather than limitation. Whether through a painting, a harmony, or an imagined world, her work is interested in the same question: What becomes possible when we allow ourselves to see, feel, and imagine beyond what already exists?

Every canvas, every harmony, and every world Jia builds is an invitation to pause, reflect, and find something familiar in the unfamiliar. Perhaps, for a moment, to find a place to feel at home.
