ARTIST STATEMENT
I make paintings and visual works centered on Black women, imagined worlds, and the spaces between reality and escape. My work explores softness, identity, memory, beauty, and the ways we create our own worlds when the one around us feels limiting.
Color, especially blue, has become a recurring language in my practice. I use it to shift familiar figures and environments into something dreamlike, otherworldly, and emotionally open. Across portraiture, abstraction, and imagined spaces, I’m interested in creating images that feel both recognizable and slightly beyond reach.
My practice continues to move between painting, sound, and worldbuilding, allowing each medium to expand the others.
